Ethos and Values

At Kingsway Infant School, we have key values which are at the heart of everything we do. They are...
Nurture - we care for and protect each other while we are growing.
Aspiration - we want everyone to be the best they can be.
Respect - we value the feelings, wishes and rights of others.
Aims
At Kingsway Infant School, we are committed to providing a nurturing and inclusive environment in which every child can thrive. Our aims are to:
-
Provide a happy, safe and supportive community founded on mutual respect
-
Foster strong partnerships between home and school to support children’s learning and wellbeing
-
Create an inclusive environment where every child is valued and encouraged to achieve their full potential
-
Deliver high-quality teaching through a rich, balanced and engaging curriculum
-
Encourage children to take an active role in their learning and development
-
Ensure children are ready for the next stage of their education.
Equality Objectives
We are dedicated to promoting equality and inclusion across all aspects of school life. Our objectives are to:
-
Continually evaluate the effectiveness of our provision in ensuring equality of opportunity for all pupils
-
Identify and address any barriers to learning and participation
-
Maximise the effective use of Pupil Premium funding to support the achievement and progress of all pupils
Motivation
We recognise the importance of celebrating achievement in fostering motivation and confidence. Children’s successes, both large and small, are acknowledged through a range of rewards, including stickers, certificates and recognition in weekly assemblies.
Alongside this, we actively encourage children to reflect on their own achievements and the positive feelings associated with success. This supports the development of resilience, responsibility and a lifelong love of learning.
Hertfordshire Attachment Research Project
Kingsway Infant School is proud to be a member of the Attachment Research Community, and a pilot school for the Hertfordshire Attachment Research Community (HARC). We believe that every child deserves to feel valued, heard and valued, regardless of their starting point and place an emphasis on inclusion, wellbeing and on removing barriers to learning. We support children, families and staff to experience safety, connection and belonging through consistent relational practice. This means that we put the relationships with our children, families and staff at the centre of our practice.
