Safeguarding

Kingsway Infant School is committed to providing a safe and secure environment for children, staff and visitors. We create a culture where children and adults feel confident about sharing any concerns that they may have for their own safety or the safety of others.
Our safeguarding team work with our pupils, families and outside agencies. We also support staff in ensuring we provide the best provision and care for all.

Kingsway Infants Safeguarding Team:
Mrs Debbie Knights - (Headteacher and Designated Safeguarding Lead)
Miss Aimee Smith - (Deputy Headteacher, Class Teacher and Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead)
Mrs Samantha Pither - (Office Manager and Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead)

All the adults in our school work together to keep our children safe. We consider our role in safeguarding to be critical to ensuring the safety of all members of the school community.

Operation Encompass

Operation Encompass is a police and education partnership ensuring schools are notified before the next school day when a child experiences domestic abuse. This enables "Key Adults" (Designated Safeguarding Leads) to provide immediate, tailored support to children. It focuses on early intervention to safeguard vulnerable children.

Online safety
We recognise that technology is an essential part of children's lives, both at school and at home. While the internet offers incredible opportunities for learning and connection, it also presents risks that children need to understand and manage.
At Kingsway Infant School, we are committed to keeping children safe online. We do this by:
-
Teaching children how to use technology safely and responsibly through our curriculum
-
Educating staff to recognise and respond to online safety concerns
-
Supporting parents and carers to understand the risks and how to keep children safe at home
-
Using appropriate filtering and monitoring systems to protect children when using school devices and networks

Online safety is part of safeguarding. Any concerns about a child's online safety, whether in or out of school, will be passed to one of our Designated Safeguarding Leads using our normal safeguarding procedures.
