Curriculum Overview

At Kingsway Infant School, we provide a broad and balanced curriculum designed to prepare our children for life in modern Britain. We are committed to supporting every child’s spiritual, moral, social, cultural, mental and physical development within a nurturing environment.

Our curriculum is carefully tailored to reflect children’s own experiences while also introducing them to the wider world beyond their local community. Through a range of engaging, inspiring and appropriately challenging activities, we ensure that all areas of the Early Years Statutory Framework and National Curriculum are fully covered. Our creative approach to learning gives children many opportunities to practise, develop and apply key skills across different subjects.

Children’s learning and development are at the heart of everything we do. We have designed our curriculum to place pupils at the centre, recognising the importance of offering a rich, balanced education that supports both academic progress and personal growth. We value the contributions of our pupils, parents and the wider community in shaping and enriching our curriculum.

We aim for all pupils to enjoy their learning and to feel confident and prepared for the next stage of their education. Through a range of enrichment opportunities, we provide new and exciting experiences that help build resilience, confidence and self-esteem.

Our curriculum is delivered in line with the Equality Act 2010 and includes a variety of approaches, such as:

  • High-quality classroom teaching

  • Access to a wide range of learning resources and equipment

  • Cross-curricular links to help children connect ideas across subjects and understand their relevance to everyday life

  • Enrichment activities and opportunities for personal development

  • A range of extra-curricular clubs to enhance pupils’ learning experience list of clubs can be found on our Clubs page.
