Science

At Kingsway Infant School, we aim to inspire curiosity and a love of science by giving all children access to the 2014 National Curriculum through engaging topics and practical investigation. In EYFS, children explore the natural world through observing plants, animals, and seasonal changes, while developing care and respect for living things.

Through science, we encourage children to:

  • develop curiosity and awareness of the world around them

  • ask questions and explore different ways to find answers

  • observe closely and carry out simple investigations

  • use observations to make predictions and suggestions

  • gather, record, identify, and classify information

  • build scientific knowledge, understanding, and skills

  • communicate and evaluate their ideas confidently

  • appreciate the role of science in everyday life

  • understand the importance of caring for the environment and the world around them.
